[Guide] How To Get Latest Apple Seeds FREE via App Store

Greetings Fellow Mac Users...

I am writing this to show you how to unlock the ability to grab latest OSX Beta Seed updates from the Mac App Store just like any other update, without having to pay for the Dev Portal. Yes for FREE!

In order to do this we will need to run a command in Terminal which will add a "Repo" to the Mac App Store which contains the Seed updates. In this guide we will be running it on Yosemite, but this also works on Mavericks.

Open Terminal and paste this command, hit enter, then type your admin pass.

sudo /usr/sbin/softwareupdate --set-catalog https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-10.10seed-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz
Once that's done, close the Mac App Store, then re-open it and go to the Update tab and let it scan. You should now see latest Seed Update automagically appear.

Now go and enjoy updating ! Also I should mention that if you decide to do this, I shall not be held responsible if you brick your OS X Installation. Do this at your own risk !

Peace out y'all ;)

You rock, sir! I was enjoying 10.10.2 beta 1 until I began having problems with Chrome crashing. The latest beta fixed it for me.
