TaiG 1.2 for iOS 8.0/8.0.1/8.1.1/8.1.2 Jailbreak Released

Hey there iJailbreakers,

TaiG has released version 1.2 of its iOS 8 jailbreak tool, and it’s now capable of jailbreaking iOS 8.1.2. As has been the norm with the past few jailbreak releases, this is a Windows only jailbreak tool. If you’re running Windows, you can follow our step-by-step tutorial. If you’re on a Mac, you can use it on a Windows VM/BootCamp.

A few things to note before Jailbreaking :

  • The TaiG tool is Windows only, and there’s no word on a Mac version at the moment. That said, it works great with a Windows virtual machine on OS X (E.G : via Parallels).
  • TaiG 1.2 not only works with iOS 8.1.2, but all other flavors of iOS 8 below iOS 8.1.2. This includes iOS 8.0, iOS 8.0.2, and iOS 8.1.1.
  • Like the first versions of Pangu8, additional questionable software is installed by default with the TaiG tool, so you’ll have to uncheck the proper box to avoid installation.
  • Unlike Pangu, TaiG doesn’t install any TaiG SpringBoard tool similar to Pangu’s tool.
  • iOS 8.2 beta doesn’t work right now. Soon, maybe ?
With that out of the way, below is the guide on how to Jailbreak your supported iDevice(s) ;)

  • Turn off any lock screen passcode or Touch ID. You can do this by navigating to: Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode > turn off Simple Passcode.
  • Turn off Find My iPhone by navigating to: Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone.
  • Restore to iOS 8.1.1 via iTunes. OTA updates usually don’t work well with jailbreaks. You can download iOS 8.1.1 from the widget in the footer of this blog.
  • Backup your device using iCloud or iTunes.
  • Supported devices:

    • iPhone 6 Plus
    • iPhone 6
    • iPhone 5s
    • iPhone 5c
    • iPhone 5
    • iPhone 4s
    • iPad (2, 3, 4, Air, Air 2, mini 1, mini 2, mini 3)
    • iPod touch 5
  • Supported firmwares:

    • 8.0
    • 8.0.1
    • 8.0.2
    • 8.1
    • 8.1.1
    • 8.1.2
How to jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 on Windows:

Step 1: Download TaiG jailbreak for Windows from here.
Step 2: Connect your iOS device via USB, and run TaiG.
Step 3: Uncheck the second option below Cydia to prevent installing TaiG app store.

Step 4: Now click on the big green button in the center to start Jailbreak.
Step 5: TaiG will now jailbreak your iOS device. Do not disconnect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch during the jailbreak process. Once the jailbreak process is complete, your iOS device will reboot and you will have Cydia installed on the home screen. It’s that simple!

Enjoy the Jailbreak ! .... AGAIN !!!! ;)
